CFPB Director Richard Cordray seemed to suggest recently the bureau is open to tightening restrictions on the mortgage servicing industrys practice of dual tracking, by which servicers move forward with foreclosure proceedings while simultaneously evaluating a homeowner for possible loss mitigation alternatives.
