The Federal Home Loan Banks continued to show major differences in their approaches to holding mortgage-backed securities at the end of the third quarter of 2003. According to numbers compiled by Inside The GSEs from Federal Housing Finance Board data, the 12 FHLBanks held some $94.14 billion in MBSs at the end of September, or about $3.7 billion less than they did three months earlier.
