A predatory lending bill set to be introduced in Oklahoma would bar prepayment penalties on mortgage loans that fall under the conforming loan limit. The bill, HB 1944, is based on model legislation drafted by the Coalition for Responsible Lending in North Carolina. That model incorporates many of the provisions of the Tar Heel state’s controversial predatory lending law.
