Kansas . A new state law prohibits realtors in counties with a population of more than 10,000 from owning title companies. S.B. 66 was signed into law to amend the state’s anti-affiliation statute. Beginning Jan. 1, 2005, a state-licensed company will be allowed to obtain 70 percent of its gross title revenues from affiliates. A company’s annual report will be reviewed for compliance. The new law also eliminates automatic license revocation for noncompliance.
