The Mortgage Bankers Association has sided with a rarely united 12 Federal Home Loan Banks in urging the Federal Housing Finance Board to pull its controversial proposal on excess stock and retained earnings. MBA President and CEO Jonathan Kempner sent a letter to Finance Board Chairman Ronald Rosenfeld, asking for the withdrawal and recommending instead the board consider “a comprehensive approach to its regulation of Federal Home Loan Bank capital.”
